Our aggressive neighborhood campaign paid off!
The Ner Tamid Synagogue, under intense community pressure, has notified the SF Planning Commission that it is no longer considered a cell tower site for T-Mobile. The Synagogue's contract with T-Mobile expired on July 14, 2010 and will not be renewed. As a result, T-Mobile will need to withdraw its application for a Conditional Use Permit for the wireless facility in the dome of the synagogue.
Thank you to everybody who contributed to this effort! We collected over 200+ signatures on our petition, including the support of Senator Leland Yee and many concerned neighbors.
To others who are waging similar battles, take heart. Don't let up. A victory for the health of our neighborhood!
